The soul, according to many religious and philosophical traditions, is a self-aware ethereal substance particular to a unique living being. In these traditions the soul is thought to incorporate the inner essence of each living being, and to be the true basis for sentience. In distinction to spirit which may or may not be eternal, souls are usually (but not always as explained below) considered to be immortal and to exist before their incarnation in flesh.
The concept of the soul has strong links with notions of an afterlife, but opinions may vary wildly, even within a given religion, as to what may happen to the soul after the death of the body. Many within these religions and philosophies see the soul as immaterial, while others consider it to possibly have a material component, and some have even tried to establish the mass (weight) of the soul.
Chandra will be teaching yoga in El Cerrito, near Berkeley. She’s looking for students.
Go on and do yourself some flexibility and core strengthening exercises. I’ve done it, and she’s a good teacher. If you also want to press her for information on mistakes I’ve made in my life, she’s usually more than happy to detail them.

My appologies. My hardware is fighting me every step of the way. Hell, I just spent the last hour trying to get the site control panel to let me log in to post this.
The Topatoco fellows are doing a housecleaning, because they have a warehouse full of shirts and nowhere to put the new ones coming in for Christmas. So they’re having a sale on designs that are going out of stock
Clearance shirts start at $15 until Halloween. That is savings.
What’s that, you say? You only read 3PS and none of the other Topatoco-family comics? Well, you are a damn liar. But since you’ve flattered us, here’s our designs that are up for sale.
Another year, another set of wearable goods from us is released to the wild. I’ve designed up 3 t-shirts and 1 hoodie for you to enjoy should you choose to. I hope they are to your liking.
We have another treat up our sleeve for this winter, something I’ve been wanting to do for the site for a while. More on that in time.
Unrelated, I finally watched the entirety of Afro Samurai on netflix while burning the early morning oil… Was it supposed to make a lick of sense? It was neat and all, but… uh… Huh?
Hey, look at that. It’s 3 am again.
Topatoco has posted their ordering deadlines for our and everyone else’s store if you want to get your schwag by Christmas.
Also, if you order now, there’s a chance that KC Green will touch your merchandise.
Dad showed me The Wilderness Downtown, an experiment in HTML 5.
I started looking at Subnormality today. It’s a dense comic. I like this one.
I’ve been listening to Janelle Monae since Spike linked the video on Twitter.
Holly Pervocracy, former ambulance driver, put an extremely sad post up around Christmas. Just as a heads up, before you start clicking around that blog, a lot of the other posts on that page are about things like having an entire hand inside her vagina. I’m not saying don’t, though. The Cosmocking features are hilarious.
When I’m doing something relatively mindless, I like to put on some World of Warcraft podcasts like Legendary to listen to chatter. Betsy and I were like “You know, all we talk about to each other is Warcraft anyway. If we did that into a microphone, we’d have a podcast.”
The result was Not Enough Rage, currently up to episode 6. The early ones were kind of rough, but I feel like we’ve hit our stride enough that I’m not embarassed to share it with other wowheads.
